                        LEGAL FEES FAQ'S

Frequently Asked Questions About The Legal Fees Related to ICBC
Personal Injury Cases.

How Are Fees Charged?
Legal fees for an ICBC lawsuit can be paid in one of two ways.

  1. The conventional method of payment of legal fees is on a hourly basis, with legal fees and all accumulated costs being billed as the case proceeds. This means you would personally finance the total lawsuit regardless of the eventual outcome.

  2. TAYLOR GRANITTO has found that in most personal injury actions, contingency fees are chosen by our clients. This offers individuals the security of paying legal  fees only upon the successful completion of the lawsuit.

What Are Contingency Fees?
Contingency fees are billings based on a percentage of the settlement or award when the claim is complete. Contingency fees generally range from 25 to 33 percent of the settlement. However, those fees are often significantly reduced by the recovery of costs against the dependent. The time devoted to pursuing a lawsuit can accumulate quickly making it difficult if not impossible for many individuals to afford pursuing the claim. Therefore, to conduct a lawsuit for a personal injury claim with fees paid on a percentage basis is a viable option for many individuals.

When Are Contingency Fees Paid?
For our personal injury clients, our fees and expenses are not billed until the case is settled or decided. All expenses (costs and disbursements) related to the lawsuit are paid by TAYLOR GRANITTO and recovered after the conclusion of the claim.

Will There Be Any Other Charges That I Have To Pay During The Case?
TAYLOR GRANITTO has the resources to cover all costs incurred during the lawsuit. You will not be required to finance any of the proceedings.

If The Action Does Not Result In My Favour, How Much Will That Cost Me?

In a contingency fee arrangement, if we cannot settle your claim, through no fault of your own, or if we lose at trial, we will bill you only for our expenses. The amount would vary depending on the type of claim. This would be explained to you in detail prior to commencing a claim on your behalf.
